To successfully pass your Spanish exam you need to develop a learning strategy
- Become familiar with your Exam Board Specification
- Study Consistently and revise as often as posible
- Aim high, you can get a top grade
- Read every week/weekend blogs, articles, books linked to your exam themes
- Read out loud (en voz alta) to practice your pronunciation
- Pay attention in class, do your homework and keep studying at home
- Pinpoint your progress, review the tests and exams done in class and learn from your mistakes
- Practise using Spanish as often as posible
- Use a portion of your holidays and free-time to study
- From about 6 months before the exam prepare in earnest, plan out a daily timetable
- Past papers are a great way to familiarise yourself with each type of question in the exam, you can find them on your exam board website. Try to do papers under exam conditions
- Get familiar with the assessment criteria & scoring
- Get feedback on your writing from your class teacher or Spanish tutor as this will truly help you to hone your skills
- Fluency is achieved through guided practice and having excellent vocabulary as well as a range of connectors and expressions
Sitting the exam:
- make sure you rest the night before your exam, have plenty of sleep and eat well before your exam.
- Carefully read each exam question. If there are two parts to a question ensure you answer both.
- Use a variety of tenses, clauses, idioms and vocabulary
- Plan your writing and oral presentation
- Cover all elements set in the task description
- Check your spelling and grammar carefully
- If you have time, reread your answers to avoid simple mistakes
